All the commotion coming out of CES includes video, and if those there got their hands on a Wi-Fi pocket camera like the new Sony Bloggie Live, they might have even live streamed the goings on around them.
Of course, if they had cellphone reception, they could have also sent videos via Wi-Fi or live streamed them, but when it comes to standalone pocket cameras, this could signal an emerging trend.
The new Bloggie Live?captures full HD video with a stereo mic and 12.8 megapixel stills?too. The live streaming comes via?Qik Video, a?mobile video sharing service from Skype.?
As opposed to other pocket cameras, like the Kodak Playsport or Playfull or the soon-to-be-extinct Flip, the Bloggie Live has a generous, 3-inch vertical touch screen that could remind some of a smartphone. Those that want to get instant feedback from their admiring audience can receive comments from them on the?screen?? even?while shooting?and streaming videos.?(We'd find this very distracting.) And don't worry about losing those precious moments: Sony tells us, "The streamed video will automatically be saved and available for playback from?http://qik.com?while an HD copy is recorded to the camera?s internal memory for?later uploading or viewing."
We found it to be a snap to use, with very crisp, clear recordings thanks to the hi-res?Sensitive?Exmor?CMOS sensor, and the touch screen menu and options were very easy to figure out, with sharing options built in to send the vids right to Facebook, YouTube, Picasa, Flickr and Dailymotion.?
Using the new, free PlayMemories mobile app, users can also wirelessly transfer files from the camera to their smartphone.?

Sony
It's available now for about $250 with 8 GB of internal memory.
A hardier, take-on-adventures version, the Bloggie Sport,?with 4GB of internal memory, will be available in February for?approximately?$180. It's designed for those who plan to get wet. Very wet. It claims to be waterproof in?up to 16 feet of water (for an hour).?The?2.7-inch?touch-screen LCD?is supposed to work underwater, too, when recording in full hi-def MP4 video or when shooting?5 megapixel stills. In??Underwater Mode? the camera is also supposed to adjust the white balance to make colors appear natural.
